10 Energizing Snacks While Working from Home
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Energizing Snacks While Working from Home are a great way to staying productive throughout the day.  There’s something about working from home that makes it hard to get up and go to the kitchen when you’re hungry.

Maybe it’s because it’s so easy to get distracted or bored and want to keep busy with a few bites. Or maybe it’s because your house looks so good, but sitting down and eating right there in front of your computer screen just seems like the natural thing to do when you work from home.

You know that this isn’t great for your health or your waistline, though—it only takes one junk food binge to lead you into a downwards spiral, before you know it you’ve finished the bag of chips!

Snacks can often ruin your appetite for the three important meals, here are 11 healthy snacking alternative to chips or candy to get an energy boost. For example, protein bars, multi-grain crackers, protein shakes, yogurt with fruits, nuts and dried fruits, cheese sticks, avocado toast with hard boiled eggs, apple slices and more…

1) A few Starter Tips

  1. Ensure the water you are drinking is properly hydrated. Drink up! Here’s why it’s important to stay hydrated.
  2. To keep yourself fueled and avoid the crash, try grabbing a snack high in protein or carbs. Protein-rich snacks include nuts, nut butters, eggs, tofu, protein powder; while carbohydrate-rich snacks may include granola bars, fruit (fresh or dried), cereal with milk, oatmeal.
  3. If you’re craving something sweet mid-day, try fruit leather made with natural ingredients like honey and real fruit. It’s basically homemade fruit rollups that will satisfy your sweet tooth without making you feel guilty about eating too much sugar. Plus it only takes about 20 minutes to make.

2) Protein Bars

Keep your energy up with a protein bar. These portable snacks pack in around 20 grams of protein and 8 grams of carbs, making them an excellent pick-me-up or post-workout snack. These are a great mid-day energizing snacks while working from home.

You can find protein bars that are perfect for any time of day—breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even bedtime. They come in a wide variety of flavors so you’ll never get bored. There are even dessert protein bars if you’re looking for something sweet and high in fiber.

3) Multi-Grain Crackers

Multi-Grain Crackers

Low-calorie, no sugar, multigrain crackers are a great way of snacking without indulging too much. Moreover, crackers can be easily combined with celery, carrot, and pepper sticks; even with cheese sticks.

Adding goat cheese upon crackers results in a fulfilling snack that will keep you satisfied until your next meal.

4) Protein Shakes

Protein shakes are an easy, delicious way to keep you energized while working from home. Many people have protein shakes as energizing snacks while working from home.

First, all you need is a blender and some protein powder. Pour 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk or low-fat milk in the blender and add 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (if desired). Throw in handfuls of ice cubes and about half a banana (optional) for extra potassium for muscle function. Blend until desired consistency is reached. If it’s too thick, just add more liquid. Then, enjoy!

5) Yogurt with Fruits

Eating healthy snacks while working can keep you going throughout the day, but it’s important not to overdo it. Your body needs fuel and fluids, but if you’re using unhealthy alternatives then that will quickly catch up with you in the long run.

My favorite way to snack is by adding yogurt and fruit together. The fat in the yogurt helps lower my blood sugar levels, keeping me feeling energized without sending me into a sugar crash.

6) Nuts and Dried Fruits

Nuts and dried fruit are snacks that you can easily keep at home and won’t get stale as quickly as cookies or chips. These types of snacks provide the perfect balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Protein will help keep you full throughout the day without adding much sugar. The carbohydrates in nuts give your body energy to stay focused on your work. With a mix of fats and carbs, dried fruit is a healthy snack that will also satisfy any sweet tooth cravings.

7) Cheese Sticks

Cheese is a dynamic snack, it can be cut into slices and even deep fried. Eating cheese sticks is a great way to keep yourself energized while working from home. Sometimes you can’t get away for lunch and sometimes you don’t want to leave your desk but we all need snacks.

One of the best energizing snacks while working from home for productivity is a cheese stick, and because they come in various flavors there are a lot of options depending on what you prefer.

For example, if you are having more of an early morning snack then some strawberry cream cheese is going to be perfect but if you are trying to have an afternoon snack then maybe going with something like brie or pepper jack will do better!

8) Avocado Toast with Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs with avocado toast are a fast, protein-packed option for breakfast or lunch on the go!

Avocadoes are one of the best choices for a balanced diet. Research shows that avocadoes have many benefits to our health.

They make a delicious snack or energizing breakfast that provides quality carbohydrates and protein in every bite. Boil the eggs up to 3 days ahead of time, so they’re ready when you need them!

Avocado toast with hardboiled eggs

One avocado plus one egg is another great way to get your protein in while making an easy meal or snack any time of day! Cut an avocado in half, scoop out the inside and spread it on top of one slice of toast.

Add a hard boiled egg right on top before covering with the other slice of toast for delicious and healthy snacking options any time of both day.

9) Sun Flower Seeds

Sunflower seeds make for a great crunchy snack and are loaded with nutrients. One of the best ways to enjoy them is to toast them in the oven for about 8 minutes, or until they start smelling like popcorn. Toss them on a plate, sprinkle some salt on top and enjoy! For other flavor options, you can drizzle some olive oil or Sriracha sauce on top before roasting.

Sun flower seeds are a great snack, because you spend more time breakup apart the seed then eating, plus seeds are small so after 30 minutes you haven’t eaten much which can be a great option if you find yourself eating because you are bored.

10) Dark Chocolate

Dark Chocolate

It’s a well-known fact that dark chocolate is good for you, but sometimes people don’t know how or what type of dark chocolate is best. Here are some tips: look for cacao percentages over 60%. Choose lower sugar content; and try new flavor combinations, like espresso with chili pepper, wasabi with ginger or cardamom with pistachio.

11) Apple Slices with Peanut Butter

An apple with peanut butter is a perfect snack for when you’re feeling hungry, but not quite hungry enough for a meal. This snack combines healthy fruit and protein to give you a well-balanced snack that will help keep your energy up. Plus, it takes under two minutes to make!
